David Gordon Green’s Halloween which was released last year was such a MASSIVE success, it frankly shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’re making a sequel to it. The movie, which was set 40 years after the events in the first Halloween movie took place in 1978, appealed to the longtime fans of the series and dragged everyone to the theatres, becoming not only the highest grossing Halloween movie ever made but also the most successful female-fronted movie of all time! The devil with the darkest eyes is officially returning for the 12th movie of the franchise and here is everything we know so far!

1. Blumhouse is producing

Blumhouse, the production banner behind almost every great horror movie ever made – Insidious, Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Sinister, Cam, Oculus, to name some, gave the Halloween franchise a much-deserved revival and brought Michael Myers back to life. Not that he was ever dead, but the Halloween sequels after sequels were getting a tad boring. The latest movie, however, was different and offered something new. Jason Blum has confirmed that they will be producing the sequel.

2. Danny McBride and Gordon Green are on board

Danny and Green scored their most successful film with Halloween 2018, naturally, they are up for a sequel. But, instead of writing or producing, the famous duo will occupy producer seats. According to reports, Blumhouse is looking for new creatives to get on board and to pen down the script of the sequel and Danny, who wrote the previous movie and Gordon who directed, will only act as producers of the movie.

3. Jamie Lee Curtis will resume her role

The scream queen has always been a familiar face but with the major success of the new Halloween movie, her fame reached another level. Being the star of the highest grossing movie with a female lead, it shouldn’t come as a shock that the legendary actress is on board to play her role again. “If David Gordon Green called me up and said, ‘Let’s do another Halloween,’ I would do another Halloween because he did such a beautiful job,” she said in an interview last year.

Halloween has one of the best movie scores ever! The movie’s title soundtrack is so creepily haunting, it’s amazing! John also provided the score for 2018 Halloween, which made the movie even more awesome.

Nick Castle, the original Michael Myers, returned to reprise his role in the last movie and fans absolutely freaked out! Castle, who is now  71-years-old, had to use a stunt double for the action scenes and to the joy of fans, is still not ready to give up his mask just yet and is willing to come back. “I’d love to do it. I mean, it would probably still have to be in the same kind of parameters,” Castle told ComicBook.

“I don’t see myself at two in the morning putting on the mask and getting a chair thrown at me like poor James Jude Courtney (his stunt double) had to do. I would love to do that, assuming it’s something that John’s involved with and hopefully that Jamie and hopefully [director] David [Gordon Green] is gonna be a part of the sequel, too, ’cause he really did a great job, I think, on reimagining and figuring out what to with it,” he added.
